James Martin
James Martin has made a great impact since he began to appear on television in November 1996 and has barely been off screen since. Host of BBC1's ever popular Saturday Kitchen, he also has two further shows to add to his list – Sweet Baby James and The Great British Village Show. James' father was catering manager at the stately home Castle Howard and James was brought up in a farmhouse in Yorkshire. At 16, he began his formal training at Scarborough Technical College, where he was Student of the Year for three years running. Since then, James has worked in the kitchens of some of London's finest restaurants and as Head Chef of Hotel and Bistro du Vin in Winchester, where he daringly changed the menu every day.
James Martin visited the store on Friday 1 December 2006.
James cooked a variety of recipes from Tiger Prawns in Beer to Baked Chocolate & Anise Mousse, available to download below.
